Yep...creator of all the heaven and Earth.
yes sir...washed in the BLOOD
yes
Yes
OF COURSE !!
YES HE IS! But, I don't really see how that applies to fishing. Unless you are talking about the amount of prayers I cast up when in search of a lunker, or maybe the amount of swearing I have to repent for when that lunker breaks my line. Regardless...yes He is!
Yes, I am washed in the blood also!
yes he is
yes
washed in the blood of the lamb - I was fishing with my best friend who had a good chuckle cuz i ask the lord to bless my fishing pole, That day I hooked 5 big springer salmon while managing to land one 42lbs, we fished the same hole used the same set up etc. as i was cleaning my fish he lost his rigging and used my pole to hook a springer which he lost. I believe the point was God was trying to show that boy something.
Yes
Without a doubt, absolutely yes.
well i am really gla that atleast 13 people on this site are saved and not ashamed of JESUS and are admitting that you are saved before men. so keep up the good work and start (if you havent already done so and are still doing so)witnessing him before men and telling them of all his wonderous love and care so that the people that you tell of him to shall also be accounted worthy to go to heaven and not hell. and remember these are last days!!!!!
No. Not judging those who belive but just can't see it.
Sure is, he died for me, therefore he is my savior....duhh
Absolutely!!
yes and very thakful to be one of his God Bless
Yes, and I thank him every day.
There have only been 2 people who offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. a soldier
One for your soul and the other for your freedom. You should be thankful for both.
absolutely
No, but I do not doubt his greatness.
He is my guide through life. He died to save me.
No, but thanks for your concern. I'll be outside having a smoke. :)
AMen WA mthunter---you said it all.
yessir
Nate
I'd have it no other way. He's a great fishing partner.
Hail Odin, All Father who hung from the World tree Yggsdrasil for 9 days to gain the Holy Runes! My Troth is to the Gods of my ancestors, whose Divine Names are invoked by all English speakers (without even knowing they speak so!). Me and mine have not forgotten our own True Gods and we will keep Troth to Them. Damn us to Hel if you like, we know Her well, for Hel is not a place, Hel is Lady Death and we all meet her someday whatever our mortal belief system. She is a beautiful maiden seen from one side and a rotten corpse from the other, may we all get to face the good side of Her Face. So Yes We are going to Hel (unless Odin wants me for a Valkiry, come Raganarok) but we are good with that, see you there!
Since I am Jewish no, having said that I do not think you are wrong in your beliefs. There is room for both.
Bella,
I hope you do not mind me asking but are you referring to the ancient Nordic religion?
Buckhunter, you betcha! Skoal!
Umm Heloo? This is a freakin hunting and fishing magazine, not gospel hour with pracher Bob.P.S. i do believe in jesus
Yes, bella your a FRUITCAKE!!!
rserwe44,
"Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching"
If you believe Jesus is who he said he was, you should be encouraging catfisher in his witnessing, not criticizing him.
Calling names and insults is not a good witness regardless of your beliefs. Bella, Moishe, and several others expressed their beliefs/non-beliefs that were contrary to most of us who posted, but none called out any insults.
"A man who lacks judgment derides his neighbor, but a man of understanding holds his tongue" (Proverbs 11:12).
Off my soapbox now.
yes he sure is, also thank his dad for making bass and whitetail deer
Minigunner111, I'll take my fruitcake with a horn of mead, thank you very much. The Old Gods never died, never left us, were always remembered. After All Monday is obviosly Moon day and Tuesday is for Tyr The God of truth and honor, who lost his hand binding the Fenris Wolf. Wednesday is Woden's day, Odin the All father, who walks among men in disguise. Thursday is Thor's, the God of strength whose hammer Mjolnir smites giants. Friday is for Freya the goddess, whose twin brother is Frey the bountiful. All this we know from the Sagas and Edda's the ancient writ of our people just as the Bible is a record of Middle Eastern People. The Bible is quite clear, the Hebrews are Yahweh's chosen people. I have no issues with Semites but I ain't one, so I ain't one of Yahweh's chosen, you all can follow whatever religion you like (I admit I don't like Mormons, Scientologists or Moonies much). I have dear friends who are christians, muslims, jews, druids, buddhists, hindus and ever single one is convinced that their particular faith is true! As far as I am concerned All religions that don't demand cash or exhort folks to kill each other are true!
So am I such a fruitcake then?
Bella raises a good point. I feel it's all about faith. There's room for all of us! Like he says "As far as I am concerned All religions that don't demand cash or exhort folks to kill each other are true!" PS Jesus does it for me. But I have dabbled in Toaism and Budhism Most seem to have common beliefs expressed differently (such as due onto others as you would have done onto you)
Be glad that there are many who have sacrificed all so that you may enjoy the freedom to believe as you choose. Don't forget that!
WMH
The thing I wonder about with Christianity is where do Believers get the notion that they have any right to impose their ideas of theology on other people? I know and love many Christian folk who advocate for their faith by their saintly examples but then one encounters so many who think their beliefs need to be univerally imposed on everyone, even those who have their own paths and are disinterested. What is it about Monotheism that requires demonization of all other faiths? Why Can't we all just get along?
Why must Christian Values be the only ones recognized in a nation that officially promotes no creed over another? The myth has been promoted that the Nation was founded by Christians, but examination of history shows that while the Founding Fathers shared no common faith, they were to a man Masons! Thereby if one wants to get technical about it American Values are Masonic Values (and I don't have any problem with that either)!
My other issue might be with Christians who seem to prefer the word of Paul over the words of Yeshua himself. I have a great respect for everything the great rabbi taught, but it is all in the narrations of others, Yeshua (Jesus) wrote nothing himself. So many of the conflicts in Christianity seem to be in analysis, stemming from what the Disciples put in, rather than the direct teachings themselves. I also fascinating that the Koran has more information about the life of Jesus than the New Testiment. Read 'em both and compare! Some may be offended that I examine their faith from "outside" so to speak, but any creed or discipline that cannot stand analysis demands a closed mind, and that I will not have. Minds are like parachutes....
with all my heart
Hail santa! HOHOHO
jesus said I am THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIGHT
JESUS DIED FOR YOU
JESUS ALWAYS WILL LOVE YOU
BELLA,
I WILL SURELY BE PRAYING FOR YOU.
Far Rider, im sorry for my firey outburst. I am just trying to point out that we should be discussing the newist gear and tacticts for hunting and fishing on field&stream, and not our beleifs.
Instead of offering to pray for me, or pronouncing dogmatic slogans how about answering the question? Why do Christians seem to think they have the right to impose their beliefs on others? I assume that catfisher123456789 would likely prefer that I don't pray to Odin on his behalf, but personally I could give a hoot who you pray to on my behalf (as long as it isn't Nergal Hittite God of Pestilence, Please don't pray to Him on my behalf, I don't need any pestilence today...).
without a doubt!!!!!!!!!
Yes Sir!
Bella Christian like me and many of you as I see(amen) tell people about Jesus because in Matthew 4:19 Jesus said, And He said to them, "Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men.". So in us trying to bring everyone to the TRUTH, we are just doing what Jesus told us to do and I respect your choice to follow your pagan gods but, we are just doing what we are told to do. I'm 14 I don't have all of the answers but I'm deathly sure of God. I digress,(for now).
Oh ya and tuesday doesn't sound anything like tyr.

Been following this for a bit but haven't added anything. Writing my fishing report before heading to church this morning... I have a few minutes so I thought I'd chime in.
I'm 50. Been a believer all my life. I am blessed to have strong parents, an incredible wife who loves Jesus much more than me and the best kids a dad could ever hope for.
IMO, the church - Christians in general - have failed their neighbors in almost every way. We have attended our churches, our rallies, our conferences but have forgotten what is most important... to love. To love our enemies... the unloveable... the poor and the widows. We preach the Gospel but don't live it in our actions or our attitudes.
Take this forum discussion. How can you share your heart on a forum to the point the other guy sees your face and feels your words? How do you make a difference in someone's life by making a quick, general statement like, "I love Jesus" here? And especially trying to argue "religions" in the most impersonal form there is in today's society. Not saying God can't use this - He can. But I think most of the time it only bolsters the belief held by most skeptical Americans that Christianity is just another religion among all the other religions.
Now you don't know me from Adam... so take my words with a grain of salt.
I've run out of time... gotta go.

Hel forbid. I'm a proud Teutonic American. I don't grovel before a Middle Eastern slave god or his bastard.
Hail the Aesir and Vanir.
Hel forbid. I'm a proud Teutonic American. I don't grovel before a Middle Eastern slave god or his bastard.
Hail the Aesir and Vanir.
To inform the young one...Tyr is Teu as in Teutonic and in Tuesday. Minor differences between Old Norse and Old Teutonic. Still Tyr is Teu, is Tue. Go read Beowulf in the original Old English, if you didn't cover it in school. Hail Odin, Tyr and Frey.
May we meet in Sumble someday Nycflyangler and hoist the Meadhorn while I hear you tell of what fish Njord has sent you.
Catfisher Check your email.
He is not my "Lord", I submit my free will to no one.
He is not my "Savior", as I reject the concept of original sin and therefore I am not in need of a savior. Anyone who honestly believes that children are born so evil that they need to be cleansed by a magical ceremony (baptism) is a cynic of the highest order.
All that being said, Jesus was an extremely wise man with some of the most valuable spiritual teachings in history. Modern Christians, particularly the more fundamentalist elements in the evangelical community have a great deal to learn from the teachings of Jesus Christ.
pagan hunter you are one screwed up dude i am a mason 1st and a christian second i might not be a devout christian but i do only worshinp 2 people my father and all of his comrades in the marines and the lord our savior and in response to your comment "pagan hunter" modern pagans particuraly need a foot in there ass and a fist in there mouth
bella and nycfly angler get the hell out of fairyland and off the bud cause you are in need of some serious help
to all i have offended i am sorry but seriosly you do not have to come question our belifs of god on this forum, now i have cooled down a little and i guess what i mean is why do you have to denounce god? simply just say yes or no you dont have to go rantin and raving obout beowolf and yggdrasil do that on a nordic forum but on a christian forum that is unnecesary. now ill be prayin to god for you and me and my masons will also show concern
I pray that this thread ends soon and everyone will meet down by the river for a little fishin.
AMEN!
well said buck hunter
@buckhunter:
And a little boozin'!
What Would Jesus Do
Yes he is.
I try to go to church every sunday and wednesday to learn more about him so I can make him happy
I find it fascinating that I should be offered violence by supposed "Christians" Like jmcctheboss23 who have offered to "kick my ass and put a fist in my mouth". My years in the dojo say "who are you kidding? first, and secondly "wasn't it turn the other cheek and blessed are the meek" Dude? I think you need to spend some more time in Sunday School, fella lest you blaspheme your own faith by misrepresenting the teachings of the very guy you claim you owe everything to. He gonna be pissed at you for bashing other folks in His name! Of course I notice this often with persons who espose knee-jerk Christianity without the benefit of understanding their own faith. They convict themselves out of their own mouths every time. I know the Bible well, I had 5 years of seminary. What I read in the Bible lead me to my true faith, The Nordic Faith of Odin and my ancient ancestors. The stuff that goes on in many parts of the Bible would be considered very dishonorable in my belief system, especially the frequent slaughters of nonhebrews in the Old Testament by the supposedly blessed "children of God". If I study what YHWH wants and lets occur, I would be less willing to worship that than the afore mentioned Nergal Hittite Lord of Pestilence! Fortunately I have found my true faith and need not partake of any of the corrupt xtian tradition. Thank You jmctheboss23, for again reminding me why I found modern xtianity utterly devoid of spiritual value and ultimate worth. Keep up the good work! I am certain you convert more Pagans every day!
Words matter... you can't take them back.
I will hail Dagdha, and Lugh Lamhfada,
May Bella and NYCflyangler hail Odin and his kin,
May our Christian brethren hail Yahweh and his Angels,
May we all hail the men that founded this great nation, who in their wisdom established this nation so that we may all hail which ever holy one we choose.
And finally, may we all ask which ever holy one we worship, to instill all mankind with the same wisdom.
Pagan Hunter, So Mote it Be, and Blessed Be to You.
Blessed be, Bella, and blessed be our Christian brethren as well
Yes, and I thank him every day.
There have only been 2 people who offered to die for you:

One for your soul and the other for your freedom. You should be thankful for both. well said, well said. pagan_hunter it will catch up to u one day.
i need help this is off the topic of jesus i got a alligator in my pond i think it had babies and there all over the place i shot the mom after she ate my dog . should i go about shooting babie alligators with my 22. or should i release some asian fish from the pet store that are soppuse to eat lizards and small alligators.any suggestions.
sorry there is two alligators both shot and killed. theres tons of babies will the babies eat my panfish.and will bass eat the alligators.
love jesus and hitler
Gee apower1031, I Was a soldier, when I was young, (or an Airman at least). Don't worship me though, please. Just not my style.
I was re-reading these posts and I found something absolutely hilarious
me:
"Modern Christians, [...] have a great deal to learn from the teachings of Jesus Christ."
jmcctheboss23:
"i am a [...] christian, [...] modern pagans particuraly need a foot in there ass and a fist in there mouth"
Really? you think the "love thy neighbor" and "turn the other cheek" guy would go the "physically assault someone just because they are different than you" route? really?
Thanks for making my point for me!
Believe, or not, the Golden Rule is simple;Treat others as you would yourself...paraphrased,of course; but you all get the drift.
No need to beat each other up over our individual thoughts on faith, but I am sure glad to live in country that allows me to profess it!
He's my only man that I bow down to not the man on earth.
I'am blessed! Thank you Jesus for all that you do in my life.
first i love fishing and hunting and everything outdoors but im no believer, theres no proof that jesus ever even existed eccept for the new testament in which all books were written at a minimum of 100 years after he supposedly existed. second he predicted that the world was going to end during his desciples life time and didnt, third if you read for yourself in the old testament all the rules imposed by moses by the comand of god you will see atrosities such as having the village stone your children if they are unruley, rules and aproval for slavery, as well as murder.and if youve been told in church that the old testament read matthew 5:18-19 "for truly i say to you, till heaven and earth pass awaynot an iota, not a dot will pass the law until all is acomplished. whoever then relaxes one of the least of these comandments and teaches men so, shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven" and that is a quote from jesus himself, or the guy who invented him at any rate field and stream is a fantastic magazine but no place for a sermon 'field and stream' not 'church and temple'

I've run out of time... gotta go.
Lilley You are very right sir.

Exactly when I don't allow politics and religion discussed on my forum.
I am a new creature in Christ Jesus my Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:13. At one time I thought that, what I called, "so called christians" were trying to empose their beliefs on me. It even got to the point that if someone even mentioned the word Jesus. I would hate them. "They are tring to change me." Or "force me to believe in their God." Now I understand that it was not them, but my own conviction that was waring inside me. When we have not experieanced Jesus in are heart we truly do not understand the motivation behind what compells a Christain to share his or her beliefs. It's love... And Prayer is an expression of love... To God... For the Unsaved... And It works I am living testimony of that.. Thank you lord Jesus for bringing me out of Bondage. Sin had me bound, but Jesus made me free..
Catfisher Check your email.

What Would Jesus Do
I find it fascinating that I should be offered violence by supposed "Christians" Like jmcctheboss23 who have offered to "kick my ass and put a fist in my mouth".
Pagan Hunter, So Mote it Be, and Blessed Be to You.
Blessed be, Bella, and blessed be our Christian brethren as well
Yes, and I thank him every day.
There have only been 2 people who offered to die for you:
1. Jesus Christ
2. a soldier
One for your soul and the other for your freedom. You should be thankful for both. well said, well said. pagan_hunter it will catch up to u one day.

Jesus is Lord and Savior. Yes God bless us all for the King of Kings!
