knife care

Uploaded on October 09, 2012

Scrub pads do a fine job of removing gunk from knife blades but eventually damage the finish. To keep your knives shiny use a wine cork instead. Angling the blade toward the cutting board simply rub the cork over the knife to remove residue then wash the knife in hot, soapy water with a soft sponge. Happy cleaning

the washing your knife in hot soapy water does more to clean your knife than rubbing it with a wine cork... I have gutted thousands of fish, and never used a wine cork, and never had trouble with dirty knives.
