Quadriplegic hunting

Uploaded on June 29, 2009

I'm a quadriplegic and want to hunt whitetail again. For accessibility I am looking at carbine rifles. Are these just as accurate as a modern rifle? Otherwise i would need to go and somehow modify it.
I'm looking at the carbines because my hands will actually grip a pistol type handle. i am just pondering how to fire other than a sip and puff. I have a lot of mobility and movement for a C4-C5 spinal cord injury.
I was thinking some kind of an adaptive hook.
I'm trying to design a tripod of sorts for my power chair with CAD, but am having writer's block.

I'm not sure if you have a reply as your post is a long time ago, but I'm a quadriplegic with about the same movement as you do and I hunt with a Browning 300 Winchester Magnum semiautomatic rifle and I pulled the trigger with the clothespin type device. This setup has worked really good for me over the years. If you want any pictures of it I can sure get them for you.

Take care

I have been spearheading a physical challenged hunt for over 10 years now and have seen many devices over this time. I have a friend that has a device on his chair that uses his old Remington 742 .308 Winchester. It is a sip and puff system and he has killed over 12 deer in the last 6 years. The unit is expensives , I will try to get you the info on the device. I don't know if this will help or not.
