Treestand safety tip

Uploaded on May 28, 2009

To increase your safety while climbing your stick steps/ladder or standing on your treestand platform; coat them with truckbed liner.

For the last several years I have been coating my climbing stick steps and treestand platform with truck bed liner for a non-slip surface. I use Herculiner made by Old World Industries. I buy it at my local Car Quest store for around $28.00 a quart. One can will do about 10 climbing sticks and platforms. Just be sure that the surface is clean and follow the directions on the can. I have climbing sticks that have been coated for 4 years with no sign of the coating coming off. This make a good summer project.

Thanks; I'm thinking there are many other uses for this material as well--food for thought!
