Obama’s European blueprint bad for US

Uploaded on January 31, 2012

"Never in the history of our nation has a president invested so much time, effort, policy and rhetoric in the purpose of dividing us and creating a nation where envy and class rather than optimism and opportunity become the essence of his and his followers’ philosophy.

"It is uniquely ironic that a country that arose out of disgust with the European system of suppressing individual initiative and stratifying people should now have a government led by people who think such a system should be adopted here. ~ Judd Gregg

What do you think? Do you think Obama's strategy to divide the country will work and thus secure his reelection?

No, not unless you think that 50% of the voters are backcasts, hoski's, Dakota Dans, and Rats. I'm placing my bet on the Pro-American Party.

Personally, I don't think it's Obama dividing anybody.
As has been pointed out over and over, the financial mobility of the average American has flat lined, and it hasn't been the result of anything Obama has done. As we know, the Republican congress has prevented much of Obama's policies...so to blame him for a trend that has been a long time in the making strikes me as looking for a scapegoat and dismisses the actual barriers.
I don't know about anyone else here, but I'd have a little difficulty scraping together the price of a fishing trip to the Cayman Islands let alone opening an IRA there.

I am reluctant to blame Obama himself for the economy. It was tipping over as he took office and due in part to the piss-poor fiscal policies that go back 10 to 15 years. The Democrats have controlled Congress for some time up to the 2010 election cycle, so it is not all the GOP's fault either. Getting the likes of Chris Dodd, Barney "Sticksucker" Frank, and Pelosi out of control of fiscal policy will have a more positive effect on fiscal policy than anythnig I can come up with since I'm not an Econ 101 student. Unbridled spending and borrowing is th real culprit. Fannie and Freddie were a house of cards that escaped punishment due IMO!

The Democrat controlled Senate didn't even pass Obama's 2012 budget. Then Senate has also blocked several pieces of legislation that would have helped the economy. So don't blame it on the Republicans Hoski. Also, the administration has been pushing greater regulation via the EPA, has slowed oil exploration, and of course has blocked a certain pipeline.

Look at Obama's executive orders favoring labor over business and then get back to me on that 'Obama's not at fault' crap.

Let's don't even talk about the increased costs that stupid Obama Health Care has placed on businesses and families. BHO can not slide away from the fact that he has hurt the recovery and in the process has stolen from every tax paying American.

PigHunter,
According to USNews, The Obama administration announced plans Thursday morning to lease out 38 million acres of the Gulf of Mexico for oil drilling and exploration in hopes to increase domestic oil production. According to the Department of the Interior's Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the areas to be leased out could hold 1 billion barrels of oil and 4 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
So when you say things like Obama slows oil production, or words to that effect, they’re simply not true. This isn’t fiction, this isn’t some campaign rhetoric, this is plain fact. If this is the kind of crap you would like me to “lighten up” on, I can assure you I will continue countering falsehoods. Perhaps you are just referencing the permitting process, which we know by comparison to the last administration’s habit of simply rubber stamping lead to the disaster in the Gulf of Mexico, is indeed somewhat longer, albeit more thorough. You see, we now understand that BP’s environmental impact study concerning the restoration of sealions in the Gulf was useless. So if the permitting process was indeed your intent, why not just say so, instead of posting the lie about Obama stifling oil production?

I also see mention of half truths concerning the Keystone pipeline. Why not tell the whole truth?
The first part being, Obama hasn’t denied the pipeline will ever be built, he simply choose to stick to the time frame where adequate study will be performed. Perhaps if as much due dillegence had been performed prior to the Gulf disaster we might have avoided that particular experience…a rather good thing wouldn’t you agree?
Next would come the implication made that somehow the construction of the pipeline is some kind of silver bullet that’ll end our jobs problem. We all know the estimated jobs numbers are inflated…but any net plus is a good thing. Further, the net amount estimated to be piped is roughly 700K barrels a day, hardly game changing figures.
Finally, as I have repeatedly posted, the crude the proposed pipeline would carry is contaminated. It requires extra steps at refineries to become useful, thereby adding to it’s final cost.

"President Obama lately has been calling for more domestic energy production, but his continued opposition to energy production on the North Slope of ANWR deprives Americans of the benefits of the $1 trillion of oil locked in the frozen tundra there. ANWR stands as a symbol that his actions do not yet match his words. If President Obama announced his support for legislation to open ANWR, America would have more domestic energy, more jobs and much more needed revenue, and the Alaska Pipeline could once again approach its full capacity."

Under Obama, Oil and Gas Production on Federal Lands Is Down 40%, by Rob Bluey

"The vast majority of America’s new oil and gas production is happening on private lands in states like North Dakota, Alaska and Texas.

"Oil and natural gas production on federal lands is down by more than 40 percent compared to 10 years ago.

"Under the Obama administration, 2010 had the lowest number of onshore leases issued since 1984.

"The Obama administration held only one offshore lease sale in 2011.

What? What did hoski post? Republican congress? Obama hasn't done much to "flat line" My GAWD!! The guy pushed, and on the stump everyday in front of his monitor selling the trillion dollar stimulus package!!! The guy got in front of the monitor daily selling his massive ObamaCare package! The guy brought on a 47% increase in the national debt in but two years that took sevaral centuries to accumulate! A total failure, and such a failure he won't even talk about either one of those "flatliner" caused bills because they'v been such a horendous failure! Then he goes on vacation telling the voters that when he comes back he will have a jobs bill that needs passing....then he comes back. It is another massive 1/2 trillion dollar tax payer bill to create jobs! Same as the first stimulus bill!!! Not even the democrat controlled Senate would pass the crazy, destructive bill!!!!!!!!!!! Forget about the Republicans. Hoski is even making the Rat appear to have some commonsense!

That was the problem with BPs environmental plan, it was simply a cut and paste of the Exon Valdez including sea lions. No plan at all.

But about oil production. America has taken a dramatic shift away from foreign oil through increased domestic oil, efficiency, and alternatives. The less money we send to Venezuela or the middle east the happier I am. Instead of looking for more i'ts time to use less.

PigHunter,
Zero sealion population in the Gulf is precisely my point.
I checked my facts before posting thank you.
BP's environmental impact application that was rubber stamped by the previous administration clearly stated their position on how they would restore sealions to the Gulf if ever a catastrophe occurred.
That's the whole point...BP's drilling application was standard boiler plate and equally obvious never read by the previous administration.
And now we have posts such as yours complaining how Obama has slowed down oil production.
Geez, could it be because somebody is actually performing the due diligence?
But by all means, continue posting campaign rhetoric.

So tell me, how much was the national debt BEFORE Obama took office? The debt is expected, by the way, to go up another 1.2 trillion dollars this year again under Obama. And a report made yesterday was, the numbers are not even correct, it is much worse than that. How does another downgrade we are expected to get further add to the debt? It will be over 4 trillion dollars this year in actuality, not 1.1 trillion because the "unfunded liabilities" are not taken into account. And a lot of that was created by the housing debacle primarily created by liberalism. Lots of pension money owns a lot of that bad paper. Just have gas prices go up like they will even given the lower demand because of the economy. Now this morning we see that layoffs are at a 4 mo. high, and given the CBO's own estimate of a 1% growth for next year? Where does that take the debt? It is all about ECON 101 that Sayfu told you about long ago, and you libs act like you never heard of the subject.

Yes, And why hoski wants to avoid me under the guise I am rude, and call him names. That is an easy way to avoid, and debate the facts. I've witnessed enough liberal responses to know their strategy for staying in power...always attack the messenger. Every conservative talking head in the national limelight is regarded as an extremist, a supporter of the rich at the expense of the rest of us. Seldom ever about the talking points. Only when they see a possible opportunity, a gaff, etc. They want to control the MONEY! They want more taxes, because they want the govt to control how it is spent. They do not want you making decisions as to how you want money spent even though it is far more efficient, creates a lot more jobs, and provides for those in need much better than they can provide for those in need. It provides you more freedoms, etc. This administration is also intentionally effecting the charitable giving wanting the money spent the way they want it spent. That is why they never have seen a tax they haven't liked. And they will do everything they can, personally, to avoid them. They want you to pay them. Ask most liberals why welfare failed so miserably according to the statistics, and the trillions spent on welfare, and if they answer, most will say that not enough money was spent on welfare.
