Joe the Plumber runs for Congress

We all remember Joe the Plumber, he’s the guy who then candidate Obama tried to explain his proposal to in an attempt at flattening out our tax code. It’s the incident where the GOP spin artists re-defined redistribution of wealth.
The same unemployed guy who harbored dreams of buying out his former employer with unemployment compensation checks.
Turns out ol’ Joe has decided to parlay his 15 minutes of fame into a bid for a Congressional seat, at a salary of around $174K per year.
Seems the financial genius that he is has given himself a $5K per month salary paid out of his election campaign.
In simpler terms, you donate to his election…he pockets the money…pretty sweet.
Now there’s re-distribution of wealth!

Now in all fairness it’s perfectly legal. It’s allowed so that those that aren’t independently wealthy can still draw a salary and continue to campaign full time.

Hmmmm, what private sector jobs has Obama had? Hasn't he lived off others his whole life? His book sales would be nothing if he had not made a name while on the public and donor's dime.

Obama was a "Community Organizer"...so was his guru, Saul Alinsky! Take a gander at the inner city of Chicago to see how Obama, and his right hand gal, that Jerett gal he hired did with all the community organizing millions they received. There isn't a poor person in the getto that could say they saw a dime of what it did to improve their lot. Gerett is said to be the closest person Obama has in his administration.

PigHunter,
Ya gotta admit, ol' Joe at the very least cuts out the middle man...straight from the public into his pocket...sweet.
Question: how does this square with the GOP mantra about pulling one's own weight and not depending on public's money?

BTW, is this another attempt at mus-direction?
Re-definition?
I thought the thread's topic was Joe?

Ya caught me Hoski. I confess to redirection of topic. Must have learned it from the Knothead... ;-)

You know, if people are stupid enough to donate money to Joe the Plumber then they get what they deserve when he supports himself via their charity. One thing you are missing though, Joe is not using tax revenues and thus is not supporting himself with public funds. This looks like private funding to me unless he gets matching government money of some kind.

GOP mantra once again preserved!

So what's wrong with Joe the Plumber? The guy embarrassed Obama when our brilliant Pres didn't have his monitor in front of him to respond to Joe correctly, and our brilliant Pres wasn't able to control everyone in the audience, and see that they were liberals. Joe's a conservative. Does that make him a bad guy?

Well that's kind of the problem Labrador. You reach a critical mass of stupid and all kinds of things go wrong.

Lots of folks will be voting out liberal democrats, and putting in decent democrats that will represent the Ave. Joe like the party did at one time.
Wonder why there is so much polarization in this country, and lab said what he said? When the extreme left runs the dem. party like they have for a number of years now, you will have lots of good folks saying what lab just said.
