Need a good fire starter

Uploaded on November 21, 2009

Need a good fire starter?. With the flu season here those small bottles of Purell Hand cleaners are like having rocket fuel in your pocket. The liquid burns hot and lites quickly. Soak a cotton ball and get out the marshmellows.

Have not tried Purell, but Vaseline soaked cotton balls held in an old 35mm film container work wonders too! I'll give the hand sanitizer a try. Thanks for the tip.

The combustable ingredient in the hand sanitizer is alcohol which will burn like heck but will also evaporate quickly, so do not try to carry pre-soaked cotton balls. Soak the cotton just before lighting.
