Texas Mountain Lion attacks 6 year old

The mountain lion had the boy by the face and was trying to drag him away. The dad stabbed the cat in the chest with a pocket knife which caused the cat to flee.
Moral, never go hiking without a knife.

I can think of a couple dozen reasons why to never go hiking without a knife. Another important point to take from this is when you are not at the top of the food chain carry adequate protection against those that are at the top of the food chain, such as a firearm. Even so, I tip my hat to the dad. It takes some serious sand to go toe to toe with a mountain lion with nothing but a pocket knife.
