Q:My sons Rem 700 270 is hitting 5 inches left at 25 yrds. He thought it was the scope so he replaced with a new one. Even after bore sighting the guns still hits left 5 inches. I'm wondering if the gun may have a bent barrel or maybe lead fouling. Any ideas?

Q:A bow hunter was struck by a stray bullet on Nov. 12 in upper Michigan. He's in critical condition. From nearby targets and shell casings police think the bullet was from people sighting in their rifles. A few years ago I ran into a family target shooting while several grouse hunters and dogs (including me) were in the area behind the tree they were shooting at. There is a reason target shooting is prohibited in some areas during hunting season. Please shoot with a solid backstop and report those that lack any sense.

Q:Surplus rifle stocks: Tung Oil? Or Linseed Oil? Which is best to protect the wood from elements? I have a Mosin Nagant I want to take into the woods this year- forecast doesn't call for rain, but I still want to treat the wood, and at the same time not detract from its original look. I've heard both tung oil and linseed oil work well- any experience with either?

Q:I am shooting a CVA Wolf muzzleloader with 295gr power belt copper aero with 100gr of pellets. Last week I missed a doe that was about 50 yards out and she just stood there. This is the first time I have ever missed. I was able to reload and shoot again missing, or so I think. I looked and trailed and never saw a drop of blood. The first deer I hit this year did not bleed, but a sucking chest wound type hole at his lung. He laid down fast though. Back to the question. I am a little low at 50yards. Any suggestions or advice?

Q:I have a 270 WSM. I zeroed it at an indoor range at a distance if 25 yards. I was told that if I zeroed it 1.5 inches low it would be dead on at 100 yards due to the rounds trajectory. Is this true, and if so what is a recommendation for sighting in at this distance.

This clip has been making the rounds for a while, but it's still funny every time you see it.
