The land around the Cedar River is home to spawning sockeye salmon and other wildlife being threatened by the growth of invasive species, displacing important native plants.
Volunteers will be working alongside organizers from Friends of the Cedar River Watershed to eliminate invasive species so that local wildlife populations will again have access to the food and shelter that they need to thrive. The organization hopes to assess the impact of the day's work on salmon habitat when they host a fly-fishing event on Cedar River in July 2012.
