Hero for a Day

We are now accepting nominations for the 2013 Hero for a Day program. Please submit your proposed project below. This year, we are accepting nominations for fall and spring workdays. Nominations will be assessed as they come in, but fall projects must take place by February 28, 2013, and spring projects must take place by June 15, 2013. We will contact you if your project merits consideration or if we need additional information. E-mail questions to kristyn.brady@bonniercorp.com.

For complete rules, please click HERE.

How It Works: The Hero for a Day program connects volunteers with on-the-ground conservation projects throughout the U.S. every year. If your workday is selected, Field & Stream will publicize the project in the magazine and on the website, and help to recruit volunteers. In addition to promoting the project, we will supply gift bags (while supplies last) to those participating. A Field & Stream representative will attend the event, and a film crew will tape the proceedings. (See videos of past events HERE.) Extraordinary project leaders may be considered for our Conservation Hero of the Year grand prize. For more information, visit the OFFICIAL RULES. Any volunteer who takes part will be eligible to enter a sweepstakes for a trip to the eighth annual Heroes of Conservation Gala to be held in Washington, D.C. in September 2013. The Hero For a Day sweepstakes winner and a guest will also win a guided fishing trip in the D.C. area.

Fill out a form, now! If you or someone you know is sponsoring a conservation project, tell us about it here. No project is too small, but it should be related to hunting or fishing in some way. A representative host from the magazine may attend, and coverage of these workdays may appear in the magazine and on the website.
