In Northwestern Wyoming, the Greybull River and its tributaries, including Timber Creek, form one of the last remaining strongholds for genetically pure Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Due to a history of cattle grazing and a lack of woody vegetation, its riparian zone has been compromised over the years. This area is also populated by elk, deer, and antelope.
The goal is to restore a stretch of critical riparian habitat along Timber Creek and enhance water quality in the process. Volunteers will take part in the planting of a variety of shrubs to stabilize stream banks and improve riparian health.
