


Over 30,000 acres in western Nebraska is protected by Platte River Basin Environments, Nebraska Game and Parks, The Nature Conservancy, and Ducks Unlimited. These lands include grasslands, wooded escarpments, spring-fed canyons, as well as riparian areas - all open to the public. it is home to big horn sheep, deer, elk, and a variety of waterfowl and upland birds.
Volunteers will gather at the designated meeting place and then split into four separate task forces to restore fencing, post signs, install a wildlife water-guzzler, and construct a youth duck blind.
