Q:I will be going to help my friend with a hog problem in a few weeks and want to get an opinion on the best 12 gauge round for the job. I know slugs would be ideal but I would feel safer if I had buckshot in the magazine. Does buckshot offer enough knock-down power for hogs? If so, how far are they effective to? I have an 870 with an 18" barrel. Thanks!
