Q:Why don't they gobble guys? I'm beggining to think that turkeys making any sort of noise that can be thought if as a "gobble" is a myth! No but seriously, I have been hunting since the start of the season, not everyday, but often. I cluck and yelp and carry on, I caw like a crow and hoot like an owl. Sometimes I call a little bit and some days I call a lot just to try these new things. And have not once heard a gobble. What gives? Also, twice I have hunted in the afternoon and called and stalk what turned out to be a hen or two. Is that normal for hens to be travelling solo or in small groups without a tom? Or did I just miss the longbeard?
