Who says trail cams are only fun in the fall? Set yours out this spring, then send us your best photos. You could win a new Bushnell Trophy Cam HD (MSRP $323.95).

Here's how it works. This contest will have three rounds. The first, Round I, began, March 12, and closed on April 12. Round II ran from April 12 to May 12, and Round III from May 14 to June 14. We're giving away three Bushnell Trophy Cam HDs (MSRP: $323.95) in each round, one cam each to the top three entries, as chosen by our editors.

UK Boy Finds Live WWII-Era Grenade on Easter Egg Hunt

When I was a child, I had a really terrifying shopping mall Easter bunny experience. I'd rather not talk about it, but the haunting memory of those few horrifying moments perched atop that giant rodent's lap spurred two things within me: A subsequent intense and cathartic desire to take up rabbit hunting, and the firm belief that the Easter bunny is pure evil. And now I have my proof...

A 3-year-old British boy on an Easter egg hunt Saturday morning discovered a live hand grenade. The device was on the side of a busy road next to the field where families were conducting their Easter ritual in Holford, Somerset. According to reports in the British press, the boy was actually standing on the device when an adult spotted him. “We were beginning to count up the eggs at the end of the hunt and I saw a boy of three standing on an object. ‘It was brown and about four inches high. It looked like an Easter egg, but it was a hand grenade,” Stuart Moffatt told the Daily Mail. ” I was shocked. The boy who was standing on it thought it was a rock.”

Moffatt is an engineering consultant who was attending the event with his wife and their three young children. About 25 children were reportedly in that field on the Easter egg hunt. This is Somerset reported that the device was destroyed in a controlled explosion. The Mail says the grenade is believed to have been a relic from World War II.

"A relic from WWII." Yeah, right. I know the truth. Anyone else with me on this, or am I "crazy" and have "bunny issues" like my therapist claims?

NY Rabbit Hunter Struck and Killed By Train

Trains aren't generally what first come to mind when listing potential threats to hunters in the woods, but that's exactly what happened this week to a New York state hunter who was tragically struck and killed by a train while rabbit hunting with a group of friends.

From this story in the Jamestown (NY) Post-Journal:

A hunter was killed by a train Tuesday morning in the town of Portland. The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office was called to East Forest Avenue at 9:20 a.m. after a train hit a person walking on the tracks. According to Sheriff Joseph Gerace, Giovanni Faso, 68, of 206 Heat St., Tonawanda, was hit by the train while hunting. The collision threw Faso almost 30 feet from the tracks. Gerace said five hunters from the Tonawanda area were rabbit hunting near the Norfolk and Southern train tracks at the time of the accident.

"Three of the five were off in the brush north of the tracks," he said. "The victim and another hunter were along the tracks, closer to the tracks, as a train was approaching from the east." Gerace said witnesses reported the train was blowing its warning whistle at the time. Faso was reportedly looking in some brush north of the tracks when he was hit. A friend also reportedly yelled at Faso several times to get further from the tracks, but Faso didn't move. "The victim was standing near the tracks, and didn't move, didn't step off the tracks, and the train struck him and killed him," Gerace said.
