As catalog retailers Cabela’s and Bass Pro watched sportsmen pour into their debut brick-and-mortar stores, L.L. Bean’s first attempt at establishing shops beyond it’s Freeport, Maine, outlet fell short. But now, five years later, the crunchy outdoor merchant is at it again with today’s opening of it’s new retail store in Burlington, Vermont.
