Montana’s first bison hunt in 15 years doesn’t close for another nine days, but with hunters having already taken 39 animals, state Senator Gary Perry, who sponsored the bill authorizing the season, is calling it a success. “It was a start, and that’s what we wanted, kind of a test run to see how it might be accepted by the public and other interested groups,” he said earlier this week.
