New Study Confirms That Saliva Spreads CWD
By Dave Hurteau & Chad Love
Saliva has long been a suspected culprit in the spread of chronic wasting disease, but now there appears to be proof. By squirting saliva from infected deer into the mouths of healthy, hand-raised fawns, Colorado State University researcher Edward Hoover has confirmed that the substance does pass the disease between deer, as all of the saliva-exposed fawns got sick. (On the other hand, wouldn’t you get sick if someone squirted saliva in your mouth?) Click here for the story.
