The sun is another foe that can cripple an expedition, especially in the South American jungle. As much as you might want to soak in some rays, the sun can put you in agony in the short term (and far worse in the long term) if you don’t take appropriate precautions. You’ll notice that everyone in the crew was covered almost head to toe, including our Indian guides Juanito and Ramon, seated fore and aft in the canoe in the foreground. The lesson with the sun is all about prevention. if you feel the symptoms of sun sickness in the jungle, you’re already behind the eight ball.

I have to ask, how many boxes of flies do you have?
Rods? Reels?

Wow! What a trip. I'm glad to hear all returned safe and sound. The Brunton solar panels have peaked my interest. Can't wait for Julys issue.
Awesome - one of these days I'd love a trip like that. Maybe when I retire???
I dont know if I will ever take a trip like this one but it looked like a great one thanks for sharing
The story was superb.
I finally got around to reading the related article in the magazine. One of the best written and most enjoyable that I recall in a long time. Would love to see more adventure stories like this in the mag.
