Thet is a big ugly fish.

But I bet it would be just right, fried with lemon juice squeezed onto it.

Among freshwater fish, this creature will win no beauty contests...but I'd still like to see it take my hook and, yes, I would release it!

Besides monster burbot and rainbow what else does this lake hold?

Congrats to these guys - they spend the time and effort and have the knowledge to make it happen.

In Picture 9 you can see the remains of a fish they cut up and I assume used for bait. Pretty sure it's illegal in Saskatchewan to use any part of a game fish for bait. Next time you might want to leave the evidence out of the photo.

When you get it certified, I think your going to find that you actually caught a "bowfin" or as it's commonly known, a "Dogfish".
I've caught both species here in Minnesota and the head is unmistakable.
Burbot? Bowfin? Who cares as long as it's a record! Good job!

You can't waste a game fish plan and simple. If they were to clean it, count it as one of their limit then use the leftover guts fine. Sorry but them are the rules.

Amazing example of Lota lota, most likely between 50-100 years old...or older. I hope you released it to spawn again.

Hey Tanaba. "You assume?" that they are using gamefish for bait? And you have factual support to back up that claim?

Just remember what happens when "you assume." What a cynical twit.
