This one I've only ever seen in the finest sushi restaurants: the scarlet snapper. A relative of the red snapper found throught the Gulf of Mexico and Southern Atlantic, the scarlet thrives in the depths of the Southwest Pacific. This new 26-pound All-Tackle World Record was bested by Takashi Odagiri in the waters of Japan. It beat out the former record by over three pounds.

Have you ever dreamed of catching a world record? It may not be as hard as you think. Joe Cermele reports on 11 new (and still uncertified) record-breaking fish from the International Game Fish Association.

wow great fish
I would LOVE to catch one of those fish!
What kind of fish are these?
Those are huge fish. And theyre really weird too
It's nice to persue a record, I caught a lake record on conroe and Gibbons without even knowing it, after the fact I found out I had the record.
So now I go after those records each time I hit the water, it's does not take away from my love of the sport of fishing, it makes it that much stronger.
Good Post,
Catfish on a fly rod and tiger trout...What a Wonderful World!!!!

Nice pacu. There is a pet store in boiling springs, SC, where I work that had a red belly pacu that looks to be about as big as that fish. He's call big boy and he has got to be about 20 years old. Would love to caught one like that. Of course not the one from the tank.
HOLY COW!! I dont know if that would be fun or scary. Probably both. Keep your toes out of those waters.
NICE FISH !!! Anybody seen the TEETH one one of those things!! They would make you think twice about EVER swimming outside a pool ever again.
