I can't help but think the deers days are numbered. Racks that size make stupid people do stupid things.

If the DOW were to tranquilize this deer and cut it's rack off it may save the deers life.

I used to live in Colo Spgs but don't the bow regulations mainly because I am a strictly rifle guy. I would think there may be tip regulations on what is legal inside city limits. I would research this VERY carefully before seting out to hunt this monster then re-think it again several times before doing it. One thing to keep in mind is the employees that are used to seeing it every day and what their reaction to someone hunting basically in their backyard would be. I can imagine most would be out looking for YOUR hide.

Now if that monster leaves the city and wanders into legal hunting areas all bets are off.

JBird. A arrow will cost you dearly in Colorado. Remember the guy who arrowed Sampson the Local Huge Elk a few years back? We he did just as you suggesed, arrowed the Pet of Estes park and cost him 25K plus $, thats when the SAmpson law was begun and is still in effect. I've hunted many western states, and believe I've seen some people do crazy things, but one thing I will never do, is kill a animal illegal. I saw 2 game wardens set up a 6 x 6 Elk , on 2 x 4's with the Elk hide over the fram work. The Elk was placed about l50 yds up a valley. We had a ring side seat and saw 2 guys, stop and both stopped and shot the Dummy Elk. @ wardens were hidden 50 yds away. I bet their trip was ruined pocket book wise and overnight in jail.I don;t kill illegal here at home and I live in the woods l/4 mile from main road, with many opportunities all year to kill W-tails. Good luck.

You cannot kill any game animal, Elk, Deer, Sheep, etc in any city limis with any weapon unless the Town Board and Game Comm. consides he's a danger to the public. A few town have a bunch of w-tails and allow bow hunters a limited# taken out,but non will allow a Trophy such as this Mulie. Yes, the workers who see him may make your life miserable if you kill their pet.I love hunting, but its fair chase and legal always. I would think we all on this Blog would abide by the game laws regrdless fo the size, shape of the animal. Sure *I'd take a shot at him in the wild far out of city limits and here the city controls the land l mile away for anything.

o any of you guys know what the Sampson Law in Colorao is? A guy arrowed a local kinda pet Bull Elk who had lived in Estes Park for years and became a legan for the area.A smart assed bow hunter killed him and was finally caught. I'm told the find for killing such a animal now is $ the Sampson Law of 25.000.00, plus reppace the animal, jail time, gun, vehicle and no hunting in many stats for lifetime. So don;t attempt this Mulie unless you feel untouchable as many local eyeballs keep tabs on this great animal. As I've stated many times any animal is a trophy to the shooter, but lets kep it legal for others to enjoy. I obey game laws to a point, but when it comes to Wolves, Cougars, roug bears i draw a line. Wolves on average kill over 50 Elk per year, check out NRA's stats. Now we got Coyotes running out all our small game, so we need to declare war on them as well.

The crazy thing is, his "little friend" is quite the specimen, but pales in comparison.

Just for the record if he crossbred with an elk he wouldn't get an extra rack lol he might have been an offspring from a Deer and an Elk

Miss seeing these guys!
I worked at JE Dunn until 5 days after the photos were posted (Reduction In Force) and took the photos from inside (plus the earlier ones outside of my office and from other offices) while George was outside taking the others.
Sure hope they're still coming around and are OK...they always made our day!

I can't help but think the deers days are numbered. Racks that size make stupid people do stupid things.

If the DOW were to tranquilize this deer and cut it's rack off it may save the deers life.

I can't believe that some people would consider killing this animal. He needs to be appreciated as natures majesty, not killed and mounted. Really is quite a beast.
