When in canada the guide said to hook a leech in the tail so that it won't ball up on the hook.

Great stuff f&s, sometimes we forget that the american nightcrawler has caught more trout, bass and walleyes than any other method.

Perfect article for my 6 yr. old. The pictures really help explain things to a young mind. Now he can't wait until spring.

Good stuff here. My 9 year old son and I busted out the tackle boxes and experimented with the examples provided. We are however having difficulty mastering the Texas Rig. We Have seen pictures along with already assembled soft plastics in stores. I have yet to met anyone who prefers them. We understand the Line Weight and hook concept but have trouble connecting the dots. If anyone can help we by referencing or providing a Step by step instruction we would appreciate you help

At the risk of sounding foolish I cannot for the life of me figure out what the 2 parallel lines intersecting the fishing line are supposed to represent. Can anyone fill me in on this? Aside from me not knowing that this is a great article!

To jtheid28, the parallel lines represent a variable length of line between hook and bobber.
