We had brought Bones a case of beer, which he threw in the "refrigerator" chest he keeps cool with running creek water. In return, he taught us how to pan for gold. Keith and Doogie seemed most focused on the panning, and they pulled a good dozen or so flakes from the silt. I'm sure Keith would have stayed all day, but we decided to push on toward Flume Creek, which Bones said would be clear, and full of grayling.
