MicroFix 406 Personal Locator Beacon
Personal locator devices have gained in popularity in the past decade, and for good reason: They save lives. New from ACR is the MicroFix 406 Personal Locator Beacon, which is small, lightweight, and attaches to your clothing. If you get hurt in the woods, press a button and an internal GPS receiver will acquire your position and transmit it and your personalized code to search and rescue squads. This thing will make you feel secure, no matter how far into the backcountry you may be. $500.

I don’t like junk and like to see advances and better deals in what we currently use for example.
The MicroFix 406 Personal Locator Beacon looks great but I checked it out and what I can see it doesn’t have the features of "SPOT". With “SPOT”, you can be tracked by those at home, has a “OK” button to let them know your ok, help button for preset message you made and the “911” button.
The “SOL” survival pak, I’ve noticed it has matches that are prone to deterioration and is a limited use item. It should be replaced with a small tube of Vaseline and a magnesium stick. A 2x2 cotton patch saturated with Vaseline and you have 6 to 10 minutes of flame. Other items need to be replaced and added.
