Hot New Gadgets from the 2008 SHOT Show
Coast L.E.D Flashlights
Flashlight technology is on fast track; models made just a few years ago are quickly becoming obsolete. There are a lot of big names in the field, but Coast has quietly emerged as one of the leaders. Coast has a huge variety of lights to choose from, all super-strong L.E.D. lights that work off alkaline batteries instead of Lithium. I especially liked the dual-color models (white and green for stealth, white and red for blood tracking). They cost $75 to $100, depending upon the model - a bargain, when you factor in all the money you'll save by not having to buy lithium batteries all the time.

I don’t like junk and like to see advances and better deals in what we currently use for example.
The MicroFix 406 Personal Locator Beacon looks great but I checked it out and what I can see it doesn’t have the features of "SPOT". With “SPOT”, you can be tracked by those at home, has a “OK” button to let them know your ok, help button for preset message you made and the “911” button.
The “SOL” survival pak, I’ve noticed it has matches that are prone to deterioration and is a limited use item. It should be replaced with a small tube of Vaseline and a magnesium stick. A 2x2 cotton patch saturated with Vaseline and you have 6 to 10 minutes of flame. Other items need to be replaced and added.
