For the better part of the morning, Cermele and I fished according to the old angling adage, never leave fish to find fish. Cast after cast was met with strike after strike. We caught them on top with elk hair caddis, PMDs, spinners, and Adams. We also slammed fish below the surface with tandem nymph rigs, which most often consisted of a pheasant tail behind a flashback hare's ear. More than once we doubled up. Here a feisty brown trout wants absolutely nothing to do with Cermele.

Awesome pictures and the fishing looks great. Where did you live in Montana? I live in Missoula.
I live around those parts. Those pictures are beautiful, but they don't do it justice. The streams and creeks here in Pa. are almost magical.
Fished a # of wild trout streams in the Tiadaghton st. forest.Nothing like mountain stream fishing in north central Pa. Great pictures!
Sounds like a good trip.
My parents own a bar, hotel and gas station in a remote area of Lycoming County, Pa, just above Pine Creek and minutes from Kettle. Before the area is invaded with tourist and weekend warriors, we always make sure to get some great fishing in. Nothing better than mountain fishing. Although the fishing home in York County can be just as good.
breeze I agree with good fishing in York Co my favorite stream within an hour is in York.
The brown in the sixth picture looks really healthy. What a pretty fish. Nice job.
