Eastern Coyote Giant
This coyote was called in with a distress call after locating it with a locator call. Is was shot with a 22-250 from a little over 200 yards and weighted over 50lbs!

Nice! These eastern dogs are all part wolf. I once trapped one that weighed over 60 pounds in upstate New York. We still have the pelt.

Yeah I have seen several here in Ohio that were in the 70+lb range. My good friend & nuisance trapper Smokey from W.Va caught one a few years ago that was 72lbs & yes recent research shows the DNA definitely has wolf genetics/bloodline!
