So how do the regs work on that? Can you shoot an elk without a tag in Texas? Just sounds confusing.

Elk are considered "Exotic" animals since they are non-native and landowners have introduced them to the state as Game. There is no bag or possession limits or closed season on exotic animals on private property.

Here in utah a elk is normal daily.

WOW! here in Colorado we cant shoot them without tags. We ahve the largest Rocky Mountain Elk Herd in the world! and the bulls we shoot have to have a minimum of 4 points on one side or a six inch bro tine
