sorry to ruin your story here del in kc but this is clearly a nile crocodile with a warthog in its mouth crossing some paved road in africa, being that this is the only place they inhabit. you can tell quite clearly by the pointed snout and rounded tip of the crocs nose and the tell tell warts and tusks of the warthog. sorry man but good try
Wrong answer nc. I may have gotten bad info on where this is but that definitely is an Alligator. I have seen many of both animals in person and also killed plenty of feral hogs. That is not a warthog.
sorry del but you are still wrong i have bachelors in Biology with a concentration in Reptiles and this is a nile croc and and worthog. not calling you dumb but just wrong.
Actually it looks like a Gator carrying a Warthog over a paved road in Africa. I think this was just a picture that Del grabbed off of Google Images. But either way it is still a good picture that Del shouldn't have any business posting.
Haha Del I caught you. I just found that same picture on Google. Here's the link: (http://www.23mm.com/image/2006/small/boar.jpg). It is "supposed" to be an alligator carrying a pig across a road in Lousiana not Florida:) I knew you just pulled it off Google, but I won't hold it against you. I mean it is still a cool picture.
NC is right...if the photo is real, it is a crocodile. If you live anywhere around alligators for any amount of time you know adult alligators are almost completely, uniformly black with rounded snouts. This reptile has all the coloration as well as the snout shape indicative of a Nile crocodile, and they can get absurdly large.
Yep, I know gators and crocs quite well and NC is right- that's definitely a Nile Croc, not an American Alligator. Unfortunately in FL if there was a gator that big running around and catching feral hogs and crossing streets, the G-Men would be after him pretty quick.
It is definitely a croc not a gator. I have been working with reptiles for over 20 years and currently have 4 gators in my collection. All descriptions already given are accurate so I will not repeat. If you don't believe me either check out my website, www.reptileprograms.com. I know, cheap self plug, but hunters should be just as familiar with wildlife as biologist. They also should be willing to keep learning. Also check out the dry environment in the background. Not Miami.
Was probably a pig or warthog that bit the end of his tail off. cool pic. Whatever kind of reptile it is, when it can pick up a pig and run off with it, it gains my respect.

This just in-Its a Kimodo Dragon with a Liberal Democrate in his jaws.
darn, I was hoping you had trained a gator to hunt and fetch hogs. Must be hell to keep him from hard mouthing them though!
haha jeez, Mr. animal planet figured it out on his own...
THIS, would be awesome to see!

Its Barney.. Just kidding.
NC give the know-it-all role a rest. It's a gator. Don't pull out the armchair expert bull$hit. We all know you don't have any such degree.
looks like a gator too me. nice pic

Cool picture, but stolen. This is the "reader photo shots" not cool stuff I found on the internet section. Copyright laws apply to pictures you know.

who cares wat it is it ate an animal...
Thats cool.
Thats cool.
Whatever.
The very picture of competition for the food supply.
Both concentrated masses of protein with a somewhat-developed brain.
The classic picture of a carnivore consuming an omnivore.
Looks like the Hawg lost control of his bladder way back there
The trees don't even look like any southern state, I would go with the croc in Africa.
I'll just say it's a cool pic and leave it at that

Just think , What he could do to you!!
Just think , What he could do to you!!
wow, that is a huge crocadile, I would NOT want to be swimming where he swims, awesome pic
Regardless of what it is and what it is eating, its not something that is seen everyday, and its a great photo.
Shoot the beast!
