Cousin Stephen with the buck I rattled up for him.
Dec. 6, 2008 was a cold, perfect South Texas morning. I rattled in two locations before we settled in this location, near a visible rub line. We heard this buck thrashing about in the brush for three minutes before he ever appeared, and Steve dropped him 30 yards out. The buck was angry, rutting, and ready for a fight. He never knew what hit him. A classic South Texas deer hunt.
