Afternoon Turkey
Bird was taken on public land at 5pm. It had been heavily hunted and responded to soft calling and scratching in the leaves. It did not gobble, it only yelped in response to my calling. It and another mature tom came in together. The bird weighed only 18 lbs, had an 11.5 inch beard and 1 3/8 inch spurs. It was missing 3 feather from its fan.

Great photo Beekeeper!!!!!!!
Congratulations on your turkey......
Excellent posting......
Thats what people don't understand, if a bird gets hunted hard, its used to all that loud calling. All I do is rake the leaves a little bit and cluck as softly as I can.
Great beard on that one.
