oh sorry i forgot to say this earlier but thanks glad you like it . and her picture is on my living room wall
Oh ok, haha that's awesome.
what part of the state you from ?
Long Island but I hate it here for a lot of reasons. My family & I are part of a Gun Club in the Catskills in Ulster County.
oh your still a ways from me than i have never hunted in the Catskills. i do go down state some times and hunt in stuban county my friend has family with land down there . lots of deer down there opening day sounds like a war zone though
Yeah, I would like to get to the Adirondacks to do some hunting/fishing. Haha that's unfortunate. From the looks of you pictures looks like you have a lot of big Bucks around, nice pics. by the way. It's very rare to see anything bigger than a 4 pointer where I hunt it sucks. There's a lot of Black Bears & Coyotes around thow. Of course I never see them when I'm up there but when I'm not there, that's when there out lol. I think the last time anyone in my club got anything was probably about 6 years ago until last season when I got a Spike. So hopefully I broke the curse lol.
yeah there are some nice bucks here for sure but you got to work for them ,there is a lot of land and not that many deer here. i have gone days here with out seeing a tail bounding through the woods let alone a whole deer . hope you broke your curse keep at it and dont give up .
Yeah thanks a lot man. Oh believe me I do work for them. Whenever I come up I always stop at the Tractor Supply off route 17 in Liberty & I buy one or two mineral blocks & about four bags of sweet corn & some chopped up apples. Then we have a nice & big deer feeder that I pour it all into & then I scatter the mineral blocks around. I've noticed that the Deer like the mineral blocks more in the spring & summer, instead of the winter. I guess when I go up in the winter I'll buy some salt blocks. Do you have any plots on your property?
your deer like the mineral blocks more in the spring and summer due to antler growth and fawns being dropped, they need them more during that time of year .
no plots on the land i hunt . i prefer to still hunt and track during rifle and muzzle loader season . but i do sit in a stand with my bow or sometimes my hand gun .
Oh really? That's cool thanks. I'm taking the bowhunter safety course soon. I practice shooting the bow in my backyard at home 'cus I have like 2 acres, I like it a lot more than rifle & shotgun. What kind of bow do you have?
right now i shoot an alpine ridge runner. but i have had it for years and i think it may get replaced this summer not sure with what yet . good luck to you on your course .
That's cool, thanks. I hope to get a Bowtech or a Matthews. One of my older brothers owns a archery shop in North Carolina so he's gonna hook me up w/ a good one.
nice you cant beat having family like that lol both would be a good choice
Haha yup
So what does Cooner mean?
it is my nick name , the guys i work with started calling me coon skin than shortened it to cooner when they seen me wearing a coon skin hat. i made from a big boar raccoon that i caught in one of my coyote sets .
