Catfish lure in the begining process.
Thought I would put another photo of this favorite catfish lure as I was carving it out before sanding. I like this lure for catfish. I guess no one else likes it. I have not had any comments on it. Should I stop posting photos of lures I make? By the way, they are not forsale at all. I make them for my self.

I too like to make lures. These are cool. Do you use a certain type of wood?
Made these out of Dried Red Cedar of my land.
Do you have a lot of luck with it? Do you prefer fishing for cats with lures than bait? Sorry for all the questions, but I have only fished for cats with bait so I am intrigued.

Sorry I took so long to see your comment. Yes they work very well in back water shallow dirty water. I Prefer lures in a boat in back water and bait on land or in the deep. My dad told me about catching fish on these lures while fishing with my Grandfather. It Intrigued me aswell, and its a blast when they are really biting good. You can still by the flatfish but they are made of plastic now and have a hard time running true in the water. Thats why I decided to make some. Have fun, hope you catch a big one.
