My Favorite New Knife
After much fileing and pounding, I was able to fit the cross-guard and make the para-cord handle. The blade steel was so hard that I had to use and electric grinder to get an edge on it. After that, I used a series of diamond and stone sharpeners. Finally I used good old Arkansas to smooth it out and it can cut a paper towel without tearing it. Hope to use it on a deer soon.

I know it is scratched, but it was like that when I got it. Doesn't make in difference in it's performance.
So did you make this from scratch? What kind of steel is it?
I don't know what kind of steel it is. Yes I made it from scratch. It's the first knife I ever made.
Impressive 550 cord handle!
