31" 10lb walleye Big Bay DeNoc Michigan
Caught on a bluebird day, calm, clear, and warm, trolling crawler harnesses in 20 feet of water for suspended fish. It was my son Brett's turn on the rod when the planer board took a real dive.
The fish was green when it saw the boat and made several runs before coming to the net.
It was his biggest walleye ever and the picture was taken just before she was released.
Species:
Walleye
Where: Michigan
Method:
Live Bait

Actually, a very important part of the narrative was left out. First, the picture was taken by Brett's favorite uncle Mark not his dad and second, although I wasn't actually guiding at the time, I had done so on previous occassions. The fish was released as I do so with nearly all of my fish. Sometimes I do an air release which is quite tricky.
