This is my first picture of a black bear. It was taken in the woods just North of Fairview, Michigan on 7-10-09. I was about 15 yards from him. He tried but couldn't get my scent. He was not sure what I was. He sat looking at me for a while and then stood up, swiped the ground, and moved off into the woods.
