Bullet recovered from Caribou at 650ish yards
I recovered this Hornady 338 diam 250 grain out of my 338 Win Mag loaded at 3000 fps I shot my Caribou with at 650ish yards and found it between the ribs and skin. Still made a lot of hamburger and the ribs totally blood shot and uneatable.
Species:
Caribou
Where: Alaska
Method:
Rifle
When: at 05:30 pm
That's the far side of the animal, right? No energy wasted.
338 Win Mag even at 650 yards is actually too big of a bullet. The 270 with 130's work far better and you get more meat out of it.
Great shot. You mean you got it out of the far side of the animal between the ribs and skin, don't you?
