I am 20 feet up in a pine tree, overlooking a huge slough. I noticed something moving about 400 yards away. Looked thru my binoculars, and said to myself “oh my God!!!!”. I started working two different grunt calls and a doe in estrus can. The buck didn’t even turn his head. He walked about 200 yards to my left, about 300 yards away from me now. He was about to enter the woods. I grabbed my rattling bag, slapped it and made it sound like a big fight was going on. He lifted his head for a split second, turned and started trotting my way, over a fence and kept coming. He was looking for a fight. He went around a palmetto. I lost sight of him. He popped thru, from the other side of the palmetto and I dropped him at about 40 yards.

Weight: 155 pounds.

Taken with shotgun
That's a nice Florida buck, I've seen some nice deer down on the management areas in your neck of the woods. That's about as good as they get down here.
I am 48, I have hunted since i was 16. I started hunting in Georgia, because the deer in Florida were so small. I never expected to see one like this, in Florida.
