Dino Ramaciere, who took most of these photographs, has been fishing for tarpon in southcentral Florida for 15 years. Dino is kind of a walk-on with the magazine. He sent an unsolicited manuscript to us last year that we liked enough to publish as the story "Beauty and the Tarpon," which appeared in our April 06 issue. It was his first published work. A native of St. Petersburg, Dino came late to the tarpon game, catching his first fish on charter captain Phil Dugger Jr's boat Podzilla back in the 80s. As these pictures (and his stories) prove, he's making up for lost time now, chasing the silver king as often as he can from his 22-foot flats boat. To date, Dino's biggest fish is a whopping 205-pounder caught near Boca Grande. He sends us these photos to make us jealous, we think, of all the fun he's having down in Florida while we're stuck up here in the dirt and stink of Manhattan. If you'd like to go fishing for tarpon in southcentral Florda, give Captain Dugger a call: 1-800-774-0356. Tight lines. --The editors.
