CMA Music Festival Qualifier
Field & Stream's Total Outdoorsman Challenge is coming to the 2008 CMA Music Festival, where you can qualify to compete in the regional event later that day. On Friday, June 6, your archery, air rifle, and bait casting skills will be tested. The 2008 CMA Music Festival Qualifier Champion will receive an all-expense paid trip to the 2008 CMA Awards for two. The top three finishers in the morning qualifier advance to the Nashville Regional later that afternoon, for a chance to compete in the TOC Finals in Springfield, Mo. on September 5, 6, and 7. Space is limited, pre-register here (you must show a valid hunting license or proof that you've completed your hunters safety to compete) for your crack at the title of Field & Stream's Total Outdoorsman and to win $25,000 in cash and prizes.
If you can't make it to the 2008 CMA Music Festival or are not selected for this qualifier, your application will be consider for the Wild Card slot.
Qualifiers and Regionals:
The top six finishers from each local qualifier goes on to compete in their regional for a chance to take on the best anglers and hunters in the nation at the Total Outdoorsman Challenge finals in Springfield, Mo. Sept. 5, 6, and 7. Competitors will test themselves in three disciplines. The people with the highest scores and quickest times in baitcasting, archery, and air rifle advance to the regionals. You can compete in as many qualifiers as you wish to get the highest score possible. The regional events will pit the top six finishers from from each of the Bass Pro Shops qualifiers against competitors from last year's Total Outdoorsman Challenge National Championship in baitcasting, fly casting, air rifle, and archery. The top two finishers from each region will win $250 and move on to the championships in Springfield, Mo. National Championship
The top two finishers from each regional will take on last year's Total Outdoorsman Challenge top three and one wild card competitor. The 16 Total Outdoorsman Competitors will challenge each other in fishing, shooting, ATV handling, endurance, and other outdoors skills competitions. The winner will walk away with $25,000 in cash and prizes and be featured in Field & Stream magazine.
