I have only had three bows but the first two were most special. The first one was one i found in my great great uncles garage. I cleaned and fixed it and started shooting. I was 10 and it was a lightweight recurve. I could barely hit the target but i felt like i was a king when shooting it. Bow nuber 2 was an old Fred Bear compound form the 70's. My dads friend gave it to me shortly after the recurve broke becuase he wanted someone to use it. I had 4 pin sight and was accurate(meaning i was within a couple of inches from aiming point) out to about 25 yards. Becuase of the age of the bow it was noisy and unfit for hunting. Thats why recently i upgrade to a Hoyt kobalt which is a new high tech youth bow with topnotch Hoyt performance. i have been hunting with this, i have not killed anythging but are raring to. deer season's almost over so im thinking cyotes, squirrells or something,
I would not unless he was was walking a pace i felt capable of timing.
I have heard that if you are going to take this good practice is to fill a tractor tire with foam start rolling it then shoot at a target on the foam while it is mobing
Connecticut's goes until december 31. Then you you have to head to zones 11 and 12 where you can hunt until January 31.These zones are the areas you can bait at all in Ct and it has to be on private land. you can also harvest an additioal 2 deer on top of your normal bag limit .
Hey has anybody had some late season success yet and how did you take your trophy.
What type of tree stand do you use
What type of tree stands do you use. Climber, hang on or ladder the brand name like gorilla, lone wolf or Big Game would be nice
Hoyt Kobalt at 42 pounds 26" with Easton Epic N-Fused arrows. Cabelas Copperhead 100 grain broadheads and Toxonics sight. whisker biscut rest and fuse stabilizer. true Fire realease, wrist sling.
I know some people who shoot mathews but i prefer hoyts lightweight and quiet design. For me hoyts just more comfortable to shoot
I am twelve myself infact and this is my first year hunting. I shoot a Hoyt Kobalt. This is a little pricy but is the best bow i could find. It's compact, accurate and built to hunt. Remember though to shoot different bows if possible. The BIGGEST THING IS THAT THE BOW IS COMFORTABLE FOR YOU TO HOLD,SHOOT AND ANYTHING ELSE. Let me know when you get first deer as i am excited to hopefully share my first kill.
Another great option are German Kinetic Silverflames. They are two-blade cut on contact broadheads. These suckers are rediculously sharp and easy to resharpen. You might get lightheaded when you here that these guys run $30 a pop. These broadheads are capable of punching holes through animals like Cape Buffalo,Elk Moose, Bear and other large animals. If you think the regular deer hunter doesn't need these that is true but when it comes to geting maximum penatration and quick kills even on iffy shots these are them. These are EXTREMELY SHARP be care while removing arrows or this could happen.
