The Calm Before the Storm: I know we’ve all seen this one before, but I’d never seen this version of it. I always figured the victim, Lynn Chestnut, was attacked during a hunt. Wrong. Turns out he was actually trying to provoke an elk charge because he thought it’d make for a cool video clip to show his hunting buddies. And just how bad did he want to be charged? Bad enough that the doofus sprayed elk urine in his mouth as if it were a new flavor of Binaca.
One, why would you even think of wanting an elk to charge you?! Two, he sprayed elk pee in his mouth, thats greoss and just adds stupidity to the situation. Three, it almost seems like he really enjoyed the whole encounter. No part of that video had any common sense in it, but ill admit, it was pretty entertaining!
The Calm Before the Storm: What would a video gallery be without one foreign clip? In this one, a fly angler catches a small pike, which he successfully nets and prepares to release.
Then the You-Know-What Hits the Fan: At the last second, the fish turns around and clamps on the angler’s hand before swimming away, leaving him with a painful memory of the catch.

This is one of my favorite stories, which if nothing else will prove what a nasty old guy I really am. My old pal Fred wanted a flyfishing lesson, so I took him down to a meadow stretch of the local trout river on a sunny spring afternoon. We sat on the bank overlooking a productive pool.
Thats a good story. I completely agree with keeping ta couple trout for a meal. I would understand if the guy would yell over keeping many fish, but you only had two. You had the right to say whatever you want.
From the PR Newswire: The Pennsylvania Board of Game Commissioners, in a notational vote, yesterday gave preliminary approval to a regulatory change that would allow hunters to use magnifying scopes on bows or crossbows during the archery deer and archery bear seasons.
I understand the use of a scope for a crossbow, but not for a compound. I think that pin sights are as advanced as bows need to get. The point of a bow is that it is more of a challenge for the hunter. If you put a scope on aa bow, your just making it easier to use and shoot well. That is the opposite of what a bow is supposed to be.
