I prefer to marinate them for like 30 mins in soy sauce and finely chopped green onions then a quick sear on the grill. Ill have to try them in Italian dressing.

  • The Most Popular Boat Names For 2008
    29

According to the BoatUS Graphics Department, which compiles a yearly list of the most popular boat names, there’s a good chance it’s one of these:

    Seas the Day

    Summer Daze

    Second Chance

    Aqua-Holic

    Wind Seeker

    Dream Weaver

    Black Pearl

    Hydrotherapy

    The Salt Shaker

    Sea Quest

What’s the name of your boat?

My buddies and I are building out yet another boat right now. Her name is the "Kantaforder" My brother thought of the name. Im impressed at the creativity and the fact that i had never heard it before. Another runner-up name for the boat was "Endo" because its a 15 ft aluminum boat with a 70 HP engine, so we are figuring it will do an endo at some point in its life.

  • Cermele: Fried Chicken = Official Fishing Food
    12

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of floating the upper Delaware River with F&S Senior Editor Colin Kearns and guide Gary Henderson from the West Branch Angler. The fishing was pretty good, with as much dry fly action as we could hope for on a cloudy, windy, chilly day. But what I could not have hoped to be better was Henderson's lunch of choice for a day on the river. Before putting in the float boat, he swung by the local grocery store and picked up a nasty, delicious, dirty, mouth-watering bag of extra-greasy fried chicken.

Im with you joe on the soggy sandwiches....ill have to bring some fried chicken now.

The folks at Hunter Safety Systems are known for their vest-style safety harness, which I’ve always considered one of the better deer hunting safety inventions of recent years. In fact, I thought so highly of the HSS vest that I nominated it for one of our “Best of the Best” awards a few years ago…and it won.

I happened to see these while at the ATA show this past January. Im not sure what my thoughts are actually. Would I ever use these, no. I hunt on private land. I am interested to see if anyone is buying them. I think they are kind of unnescessery.

  • Discussion Topic: On The Park Service’s New Lead-Free Goal
    20

From a National Park Service press release:

“Our goal is to eliminate the use of lead ammunition and lead fishing tackle in parks by the end of 2010,” said Acting National Park Service Director Dan Wenk. “We want to take a leadership role in removing lead from the environment.”

Heres what I am wondering... How the heck can the lead ban on fishing gear be enforced? Im sure there are some lead jigheads and other various stuff in my tackle box that I am not even aware has lead in it. I think this is a bit of overkill. Also....the price of ammo is going to skyrocket.
