My dad has hunted ever since he got out on his own and could afford it and he is the one that got me hooked. Ever since I was a little kid I was just enamored with all the stories he would tell, the outdoors and wildlife. I went on my first deer hunting trip at 13 and I am 21 now.
Q:Why do you hunt? Feed your family? Trophy Antlers? Being Outdoors?

I hunt to enjoy nature and for the venison. It's and extra bonus when I am able to drop a nice buck.

I recently took up all day vigils, but so far I have just passed the time by enjoying nature and all that God has provided us with. I love being able to escape and just sit outside waiting for that big buck to pass by.

I started bow hunting last year and just saw one small fork that I decided to pass on. Hopefully this year I will see a couple more deer.

Q:what is the difference between the boone and crockett and pope and young scorig system

The scoring systems themselves are no different. The same measurements are taken and those measurements are added in the same way. As stated above, B&C is for deer killed with a gun and the minimum entry score is 170. For Pope and Young the minimum entry score is 125 and is for deer killed with a bow.

I am a member of both, the NAHC is nice but I agree with what everyone else is saying that joining the NRA is a much better cause

Nothing you really can do, everyone has their heart set on the local legend, but only one person will end up shooting him. Unfortunately this competition for well known bucks is what leads to a lot of the poaching that goes on today.

Steve and buckhunter make good points. The spread credit can not exceed the length of the main beams. So while the inside spread might be 31. It would only get credit up to the length of the main beams, lets say 24 or 25.

Very interesting concept, I could see it working. I agree about the body language. My dad shot the biggest buck of his life when he was just casually walking through the woods marking landmarks on his GPS. He was sure happy he had his rifle with him that day.

I fish this very same situation at a small lake near my house. I have had tremendous success using a top water lure such as the scum frog or S PRO frogs, making sure to pause in the openings. With all the top water strikes, it sure makes for some exciting fishing too.

Franken most definitely stole the senate seat, I live in MN I am ashamed of how things turned out. It's more sad though that the people in MN allowed the race to be even close in the first place.
Q:do button bucks lose there nubs or do they keep growing till the following shed season
from RackAttack68 on 04.11.09

I would have to say that they keep them throughout the spring and continue growing them the following summer. Two button bucks were hit by a train near my house and still had their knubs, it was mid March. I was wondering the same thing though, whether they kept their buttons from the year before or if they shed them and it was new growth already.
Most of the people hit it on the head, as hunters we have to stick together, so I am fine with crossbows during archery season. However, my initial feelings were that there should be an age limit/disability provision and limit it to that, but everyone has there preferences I suppose.
