Q:This is another follow up question... from kolbsters, who takes their cellphone to the stand with them? I do but it's because I lost a buddy who fell out of a treestand and didn't have one. Knowbody knew where he was hunting, and he fell and broke his back and damaged spleen and liver, he layed there for hours and died overnight. Maybe if he had one, he might have been able to call for help.

Q:I have 2 Bushnell Sportview scopes, one is a 4x-12x,40 and the other is a 4x38. The 4x38 has a loose lens floating around inside it. The 4x-12x,40 has some wind elevation #'s and the front lens can be dialed in from 20yrds. to 1000yrds. Are they worth fixing or are they cheap scopes and are they old?

Q:Hi guys, I've been working 70+ hrs. a week lately, so no time to blog in, but has anybody tried vacuum packing morels? I tried 2 weeks ago and when I got back home, I realized that the seal strip had little air pockets and didn't seal completely. It still kept them edible and I scarfed them down with a juicy rib-eye. But whhat are some other ways of preserving them?

Q:I just found some 16 gauge shells that the actual shell is some type of paper or cardboard material. Being only 35 yrs. old, I've never seen these before. Can somebody give me some info on these. I have 2 Western Super X 1B shells, 2 Remington Express Kleanbore with 3-1 1/8 (5) wrote on the sticker on top of the shell, and 1 Remington Express Kleanbore Extra Long Range Slug. On the brass part of the slug, it has UMC Remington. What does the UMC stand for? Any help would be appreciated.... and no, I don't intend to shoot them.

Q:Since I have been on here with you guys I have not read this question. When bowhunting, in a treestand, and you have to take a leak, what do you do? I let it fly off my stand, I've even had deer come to check out the sound to see if it was other deer. I'm scent contious, but this has never seemed to deter deer from my stand. I think it's because all urine turns to ammonia. What do you think?

Q:Opening day of turkey season is almost here, and the last 3 openers, Toms were coming in to my set-up until they saw my decoys. I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but last year I brought this up at turkey camp and everybody said the same things happen to them in the past, and most said that they won't use decoys anymore. I didn't use decoys the rest of the year and had far more success drawing in birds. It was opening day so it couldn't be hunting pressure.... any thoughts on this and has this happened to anybody else.

Q:I like and respect everything about the NRA & plan on joining, but do you think that the group can really be a factor in helping us hunters/gun owners/collectors keep our guns and ammo in the event the Gov. wants to take them away? I truly think this will never happen, but hypathetically what do you think? The only reason I question it is because everyday you see unions like the UAW lose more and more power. Hear in Michigan, when there is a union issue the Civil Service just trumps whatever the local unions vote on. Retirees from the Auto industry and Airlines are losing there pensions and healthcare at an alarming rate because of our Supreme Courts vote for the companies. It just seems that if the Govt. wants something done the Supreme Court will back them 110% and were all screwed!

Q:Let's say you were running a bear with dogs, and when you caught up with the pack, you found them fighting with a pack of wolves. The pack has already killed 2 of your best dogs, would you shoot the (protected) wolves. I know a guy this happened to, but he didn't make it there in time to protect his hounds and lost 4 of 6. Q:I have a Remington .22 rifle, and it has Remington Nylon 66 printed on the bottom of the stock. I have called and wrote Remington Arms for info on the gun, but to no avail. Q:All right,you guys were so helpful with my gun question yesterday, here's another one. I looked on Google but didn't find anything. I have a Montgomery Ward-Western Field Model SB 100B in 16gauge Cham-Full 2 3/4". I can't find any Serial #'s, anybody know anything about this gun.... what year made, how many in production. It's great for grouse, quail, and pheasant, and due to my being rough on it when I was alot younger, I need to/would like to get it re-blued and maybe refinish the stock and forearm. Is it worth it?

Q:I want to increase my draw weight on my bow from 63# to 67#. I have been limited at 63# because the local bowshop technician said I would have to get new arrows. The reason for the increase is I'm hoping to draw a bear permit this fall and figure a sturdier carbon arrow would be better for bear and elk (if I ever win the MI elk lottery). What's your opinions.

Q:This is kind of a follow up to MLH's question, but in terms of a 12 gauge. What would be your max shot, with the absolute confidence you would kill a deer, in terms of distance. The Lightfields I use in my Remington 1100 fly true and I am confident to 150 yrds., but I have never tried going further at a range.

Q:You guys had some great answers to my cullbuck question. I know.. I mean I think I know that a mature whitetail buck starts his decline after 5 1/2 yrs. What about a mule deer? and how long would a mulie live without being harvested. There is a whitetail doe in the upper peninsula that has mothered 23 fawns last I knew, so figure at least 12 yrs. old for a whitetail right?

Q:I watched a hunting show the other day, where they shot an old Mulie that they considered a "cule buck". They said they didn't want him breeding anymore. He had a great rack (size,mass,and spread) but said he was bigger last year and was own the downslide for rack quality. I thought your genetics stayed with you your entire life, and it doesn't make sense to me for them to take the buck out of the population. He made it that long why wouldn't you let him continue to breed and live out his life? It was an outfitter that chose to do this and I am wondering, if you had this on your plate (and on your own property) what would you do?
