  • Oklahoma Bear Hunt Goes To Governor
    3

    From NewsOK.com:

A measure to legalize black bear hunting in parts of southeast Oklahoma moved a step closer to law on Monday.

The Senate voted 37-9 in favor of House Bill 1464, which would create a hunting season for black bears. The measure now goes to Gov. Brad Henry for consideration.

Hunting is alot better option for keeping the bear population in check. It gives hunters another choice in animal to hunt and helps the states DNR financially. As opposed to paying a company thousands of dollars to tranquilize and relocate the bears. Not to mention keeping property damage to a minimum when drought years force bears into neighborhoods looking for food.

  • Florida Man Charged In Fish Fight
    8

    From TCPalm.com:

A 39-year-old Fort Pierce man accused of hurling a fish from the North Bridge and allegedly hitting a boater on the head, faces felony and misdemeanor charges, according to an arrest affidavit from the Fort Pierce Police Department.

Richard Hughes Corley. . . was fishing on the North Bridge late Saturday and . . . asked a man to move his boat. . . .

I've been that frustrated at a boat launch before... but I wouldn't throw a fish at him. You see alot of rude people cutting in line waiting to go out or come in. I have also seen a few choice explatives thrown back and forth before too. People just need to relax and show a little respect and courtesy.

  • Discussion Topic: Should Vandals Lose Outdoor Licenses?
    17

    From the Ravalli Republic:

“Vandalism at state parks and fishing access sites has been an issue for a long time,” said Ron Aascheim of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks. “Between 2006 and 2008, we had $36,000 of damages done at just fishing access sites … it is a big deal. . . .”

Only if they are sportsman, if not, compensate for it on top of losing their licenses. Make them do community service by working in the park for the entire summer as partial restitution. Scumbags, like the people who do stuff like this, have been getting off to lightly for yeaars.

  • Snowmobile Slaughter Case: Judge Grants Change Of Venue
    15

    From the WQOW 18 News:

A judge has granted a change of venue for the trial of 1 of 3 Weyauwega men accused of running down and killing deer with snowmobiles.

Rory Kuenzi contends he can't get a fair trial in Waupaca County because of publicity about what authorities have characterized as thrill killings. Circuit Judge Philip Kirk agreed in a ruling Wednesday.

They need to set the bar pretty high on this punishment, so maybe the next morons think twice about it!

  • Cermele: Fried Carp, Anyone?
    31

The other night, I caught an episode of "Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives" on the Food Network that very much intrigued me. Guy Fieri, the host, pays a visit to Joe Tess Place in Omaha, Nebraska. This joint started out as a local tavern back in the 1930s, but gained serious notoriety for their fish sandwiches that were made from carp.

I'll stick to bullhead and Budweiser.Although last month, in TN, I went to a chinese restaurant and ate sushi, clamari, escargo, and raw oysters. So I guess never say never.

  • Bison Escapes Michigan Farm, Not Authorities
    8

    From The Herald-Palladium:

Police had to shoot and kill a runaway bison in St. Joseph on Saturday after they were unable to get the big animal off the streets and it charged a police officer. . . .

You watch, the PETA nutjob force will be called into action here shortly. Defending a runaway beast that would trample someone if it had the opportunity. Nice work by the police in keeping the community safe. Good job guys!

  • Wild Turkey Escapes Authorities
    4

    From The Jersey Journal:

A wild turkey created quite a stir in Downtown Jersey City today when it appeared at Eighth and Monmouth streets. . . .

[O]fficers tried to catch the bird with a net, but that didn't work.

Finally, the cops popped the bird with a tranquilizer dart, but before the effects set in, the turkey scampered into the woods behind Dickinson High School, witnesses said.

I would have loved to see this in person. Hopefully someone caught it on tape and puts it on youtube!

  • Discussion Topic: On State’s Rights And Federal Gun Control
    68

From Montana’s KULR Channel 8 News:

Montana-made guns could spark a court showdown over states' rights if the governor signs a bill to release some firearms from federal regulation.

House Bill 246, sponsored by Republican Rep. Joel Boniek of Livingston, seeks to exempt guns made and kept in Montana from federal background checks and dealership licensing. . . .

Hopefully all states will fall in line and follow suit. Let the states govern themselves. Congrats to MT, thank you for having the balls, to start what should have been done along time ago, on this issue.
