What is a great food plot mix? I know that online (cabelas and bass pro shops) there are ratings and reviews but there are just too many to choose from!
Knight and Hale Hammerhead. It is basically a sound board within a sound board, and completely waterproof at that! It is available at Cabela's for $40. Good luck!
5wt is my all around
Baiting is not sporting. It is ridiculous when people say that baiting is the same is a food plot. You dont have to clear an area to put in a feeder and fill it with corn, you dont have to till land to put in a feeder, you dont have to manage a lime a feeder. There is no work to put in to a feeder so it is not sporting and should not be allowed...ever.
i just make a blind out of the natural materials. I also love to just sit against a tree, but i dont use a backpack, i use a turkey vest.
After you get a buzzbait, on the ride home or on the ride to your favorite fishing spot down the interstate, hold the buzzbait out the window gripping it by the fold in the wire and holding it firmly as to not lose it and so the wire does not bend stopping the blade from spinning. After about 10 minutes of this, it will develop a squeaking sound every time it turns. And for some reason, bass go crazy for it.
You can customize a spinnerbait with nothing but a red sharpie. Coloring to about 1 centimeter from the edge of a blade and coloring pieces of the skirt red gives the spinnerbait the illusion of a bleeding wounded fish.
I really would like to see more about turkey hunting in both! there is a whitetail issue and a dangerous game issue and a fishing issue but there should DEFINATELY be a turkey issue!
Nitro Company 3" 1-7/8OZ. #4 Hevi-Shot. Very expensive but they do all the patterning for you. They tell you which load is best for which gun and which choke would best match the gun and load. I shot it today and at 40 yards with my Benelli M2 and a primos jelly head (the choke they suggested), and got 128 pellets in the kill zone.
I live in Birmingham and the mainthing i use is popping bugs for both bass and panfish. I have caught a decent spotted bass on a black wooly bugger tho. Nymphs seem to work great on bream also.
