I only walk to go locate a bird and get close enough so I can hear it. Once I hear the turkey and think it is close enough, I sit down and wait, trying to call it in. This approach usually works for me. Also, the less moving around you do the better.

I would recomend a jon boat because it has more room for your hunting needs and can be hooked up with a trolling motor or some other kind of motor if you like. Jon boats are also a lot more stable and can even stand up in without worrying about tipping over. The only downside about the jon boat is the manuverability... if your going against a strong current, it could get pretty difficult.

Unless it is at a really close range and dead on precise with the kill zone, it usually does not have enough power or do enough damage. As you increase the distance, the less likely you are to kill the deer and also make an ethical shot.

It really depends on the kind of game that you are hunting. With $300, you are going to be looking at a used gun. Just make sure you get a caliber that is well suited for the game you are going to be hunting. Also, make sure, the people/dealer you buy it from is trust-worthy. Also, inspect the barrel of the used gun and everything else for that matter to make sure it is in good working condition.
Great question, I've often wondered the same question.
Q:Hey guys do you think ammo prices will go back down? And when?
from minigunner111 on 05.21.09

I think they will go back down as soon as the supply catches up with the demand as well as the price of copper goes down... People need to stop hoarding ammo in fear of it being taken away, but that is a legitimate fear. So I would have to say... when we get a new president who is not as anti-gun as the one now.

I love to hog hunt. It provides year round hunting and you can hunt them in any method you want or could think of as long as it is humane. Man are they fun to hunt. They are an invasive species that do take away from the other wildlife so don't put them on your land if they are not already there. There is no set distance, it all depends on what a comfortable shooting distance for you is. I mean, you need a clear path from you and the feeder so that you can not only see what is going on but make a clean shot. Also, the farther the way the better, that way you do not disturb the animals around the feeder as well as they do not pick up your scent. Also, keeping your distance broadens your hunting area.

Although being in a treestand allows less of a chance of getting busted... it also decreases your chance of seeing turkey because the capability of being mobile is a big reason why so many turkey hunters walk around until they find a turkey. They must find where the turkey are at and then call them in. Also, I think shooting from a treestand would not allow you to get a proper shot on a turkey.

Sounds like a plan, coyotes are curious animals so it would work... but the only downfall is that they are also very jumpy and somewhat smart. You might be able to catch a coyote who doesnt know any better but mature coyotes know not to waste their time with birds that could fly away. But maybe the distress duck call would help with that... but I dont know how you would produce a sound like that? Truthfully, a distressed bunny has always worked the best for me.
I would have to say use your major muscles like the back and chest instead of the arm muscles in order to hold at full draw for a long period of time and also to have the same anchor point time after time, and lastly, control your breathing. Also, when practicing, don't shoot 100 or 50 arrows a day, shoot until you begin to get sore or your shooting gets bad... that way you don't pick up any bad habits. I mean when in the hell in hunting are you going to get more than one shot? Make every shot count. Also position yourself in almost uncomfortable ways (like facing away from the target, and in different directions) that way you ready to shoot in any possible direction, no matter where the animal comes from.

The big problem I have with gun control is if they start outlawing certain guns/pistols... that is only affecting the law abiding citizens. So all it is really doing is taking away guns from the citizens. Criminals are always going to get their hands on guns, no matter if there is a ban on them or not. They are criminals, they do not follow the law and what makes people think they would follow the law of no pistols or a certain type of gun. That just means that criminals get the added benefit of knowing that the people they do their deeds against will have no guns to protect themselves with. I really do think if they passed a law like this, it would just lead to more illegal activities.

A man sees a lot of things in the woods. I am not going to lie, I have heard a lot more weird things than I have seen. There has only been twice where I have seen something that I could not even explain... I usually don't talk about it because I can come off as crazy.

Mr.Cooper does know his stuff! But it works great on mule deer and coyotes? Seems like there is a big difference in just about every aspect for those two animals, so being good at killing both would be pretty amazing... not understandible, but amazing.

Freshwater: Bass because they are so plentiful and fun to catch. Saltwater: Grouper because they are somewhat hard to catch and they taste amazing.

Hmm, I am not sure as to what depth a pond needs to be to hold fish but you got to make sure fish can survive when the pond freezes over.

If you want to sour the corn, add some milk, that will sour it real fast. I have also heard to put some used motor oil on some spare rug or sponge and put it on a tree and that gets the pigs going and really acts as an attractant. Good luck hunting!

I would suggest not only going to the Vet to see but maybe even training your dog to keep away from snakes. I mean, regardless, you are always taking a chance when your dogs are outside.

I am not sure about the scents but I tried the attractants and that did not work that well. Had one deer come to it in the course of 3 weeks.

Although I think it is nice to have trophy's on the wall that are not from fenced in deer hunts... that does not make a hunter "successful". I am not a truphy hunter, especially being in Florida, so to me a successful hunter is one that brings home meat in the cooler...

Nice to hear you are enjoyinh Cabelas... for some reason, they don't have any stores in the South-East region. All we have is Bass Pro's which are all good and still great but they are not as hunting oriented as Cabelas is. Bass Pro focuses more on fishing with hunting and other things coming second.

It depends on where you live with the waters and times. As for bait, it usually is the same for all cat fish... they will love chiken/turkey liver (which you can get at the local grocery story) and also a little more expensive is the Berkley Catfish Dough which I have heard works pretty good too. Well I wish you luck, catch the monster!

Use a shoe box as your base and then put a smaller shoe box in there.... put peanut foam things, like the ones put in packaging, in between the two shoe boxes. Before doing so, cover them in tin foil. Then from there, I guess just use your imagination. Make sure to cover the shoe boxes.
Q:what is a good call for coyotes. and what gun a caliber should be used?

I have had a lot of success with Primos coyote calls. I also would recomend getting an alectriv system if your state allows it and if you are financially able to. As for a caliber, a .223 is ideal but some people use shotguns, with special coyote loads (Remington or Winchester makes some I beleieve), that way the fur is not ruined as much.

I would say to plant them. Baiting is considered more of putting apples out in front of your tree stand and then hunting over that. Hunting over a apple tree however does not qualify as baiting. Funny how one can get around the rules. Hope all goes well and wish you good hunting.

I hope they do, to pick up on some of the things that we want. What I really think is that they tell us what we want. Many companies will have a PRO hunter use a product to give it some publicity... maybe even run them in a commerical or two. Even if the product is total crap or maybe even breaks apart after a week of use, many hunters will still buy because the "Drury Brothers" use it. Some might not add up to this but I have seen my fair share of instances where some hunters buy products because of the people who use them and not the product itself.
